Seasonal Hair Loss

October and November are a time of change. The weather begins to cool down, the leaves change and start to fall.  Not only is it a time of change for nature but it is also a time of change for our hair.  It is common for human beings to shed up to 100 hairs per day.  During the course of the year, your hair will go into a resting phase, known scientifically as the Telogen state.  Shortly after this resting phase, you will notice an increase of hair falling out.  It is suggested that most women experience the Telogen state during the month of July and thus approximately 3 months later (October) there is an increase of hair loss.

Should you notice this with your own hair, there is nothing to worry about. However, if you notice an increase in hair loss throughout the year, then it may be time to look further into what may be causing it.
