Individual Hair Extensions:  European quality human hair attached with either beads or shrink wrap. Add length and/or volume to your hair. These extensions will last for 3-6 months and require little to no maintenance. They come in all natural colors and custom colors may be ordered as well. These extensions may be reused when retipped. 

Snuggies: European or Indian quality wefted human hair attached with beads. These extensions will last 3-6 months but do require monthly maintenance. They come in all natural colors and custom colors may be ordered as well.  Great for adding length and/or volume to your hair. 

Micropoint Accents:  Cyberhair, that looks and feels like human hair. These extensions may be placed on the top of the head to allow for fullness. These extensions may be reused and will last 2-3 months and no monthly maintenance is required. These are available in a wide range of colors. 

Micropoint Links:  Add volume to your hair. Do you have an area on the top of your head that has less hair than you desire?  Well Micropoint Links can help fix that for you. Made from Cyberhair, Micropoint Links will add 4 hairs to just one of yours, no glue, no braiding and no damage. Getting rid of the frizz

Frizzy hair effects all of us. Straight hair, curly hair or somewhere in between.  Here are some tips for getting rid of the frizz:

 

If you have wavy hair: 

Use a good leave in conditioner, such as 444 spray by IHI. This will bring the moisture back into your hair and give you shine. 

 

Blot, do not rub your hair when it is wet. Rubbing wet hair causes friction, breakage and frizz. Gently blotting your wet hair to get out the moisture is always a good thing to prevent the frizz.

 

If you use any hot tools, make sure to use a good serum before applying the heat. We love the Zenyth serum by Sudzz FX. It smells great and a little goes a long way to provide shine and no more frizzies. 

 

If you have straight hair:

 

Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair shiny and frizz free. We love the combo of the Sudzz FX Cashmere shampoo and the Aquafix conditioner. 

 

Get a Keratin Treatment. We love the one we use at Donte's of New York as it does not contain any chemicals, seals your hair with keratin and makes your hair look shiny and gorgeous.

 

 

If you have deep curls or ringlets:

 

It is so important that you use products that give your curly, curls moisture. We love Qshi Creamy JL. This product is light, smells good and does not leave you with crunchy, or stiff hair. 

 

Diffuse, do not dry. With curly hair it is so important that you use a diffuser rather than a hot hair dryer. A diffuser works better because it actually spreads the heat around rather than focusing on one area.  Keeping high heat in one area of your head can cause a ton of frizzy hair. 

 

Do no brush your curls away. Brushing curly hair on a regular basis is a no-no. The reason being is that the curls when brushed will break, causing frizziness.  Instead limit your brushing to before getting in the shower to wash your hair and use a pick or wide tooth comb otherwise.

Who is Donte's of New York?

Donte's of New York is no newbie to the hair replacement/hair extension scene. In fact Donte's of New York started over 45 years ago and has been run ever since by Donte himself.

Donte started out in the Hair Replacement/ Hair Extension business by running his own factory that processed hair to be used in wigs and hair pieces. Soon after he realized that making his own wigs and hairpieces was a better way to help those who were in need of hair and thus began For Men Only in Queens, NY. 

For Men Only had locations in both Manhattan and on Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills, NY for 30 years always keeping the same phone number.

Keeping hair healthy and shiny

Washing your hair does many things, it cleans your scalp and your hair and it makes your hair smell great too, but what can you do to make your hair it's shiniest and healthiest? Please read below for some tips we think you should know. 

1. Rinse the shampoo out really good - So you have given your hair a good wash but did you know that leaving even a little of the shampoo residue in your hair can cause your hair to look dull and flat?  Yes, it's true.  So, always make sure that the suds are rinsed out well and use a good conditioner, such as Sudzz FX Moxee to give your hair an extra shiny glow. 
2. Use the right style products- It can be so confusing when you are standing in front of the products shelf at your favorite store.  Everyone wants to tell you that their products are the best and the promises that are made are not always the results that you see. You can end up spending a fortune on hair products and still not get the desired look you are after.  If looking for something to give your hair more shine, we love the Sudzz FX Zenyth serum. What's so great about it, is it is lightweight, has silicone in it to protect your hair from heat and hot tools and even smells great too.
