Temporary Hair Loss

Permanent hair loss happens to most of us due to genetics but for some hair loss may be temporary.  Things like anxiety and stress, poor nutrition, overuse of hot tools or chemicals on your hair or taking certain medications can all cause breakage and hair loss.

Keeping on top of your nutrition is key. Taking supplements like multi vitamins with iron will help to keep your hair healthy. While having a healthy diet filled with fruits, vegetables and grains will also keep your locks looking their best.

Exercise is also a big factor when taking care of your hair.  Keeping yourself fit helps to keep your hair looking great too because it reduces stress and anxiety.

Making sure not to use hot tools on a daily basis is a great idea. Try using flat irons or your hair dryer sparingly, maybe 2-3 times per week at most.

Finally for some, there may not be any choice when it comes to the medications we take due to different ailments, but doing everything else you can to maintain a healthy body should help reduce your hair loss.

Trichotillomania

Trichotillomania, yes it is a mouthful, but for those 2.5 million Americans of all ages that live with it, it is a difficult struggle on a daily basis.  Not only is Trichotillomania a bad habit, it is a neurological disorder that causes people to pull out their own hair. As time progresses, and hair is pulled out of the same area by the root, it can leave permanent hair loss.  Although it may affect men it is predominant in women.  We see people who have this and it is heart breaking because it is so for the afflicted individual to control.

Fortunately we are here to help. If you are suffering from hair loss due to Trichotillomania, genetic or medically, we have natural solutions that can make you feel great about your hair again.  Call today for your FREE consultation to learn how: 480-483-8800 and please visit us on the web: www.dontes.com.

Hair Extensions-How long should they last?

Hair Extensions can be costly and we all want to get the most bang for our buck, don't we?  So, how long should hair extensions last?  When applied properly, hair extensions can last up to 6 months. Anything longer than that can cause tension on the hair and that can cause breakage.  Hair extensions should not last for less than 2 months when installed using the right methods.  Always selecting the right type of extension method will insure the longevity of your hair extensions. Look for methods that do not require hot glue, braiding or sewing as this could cause temporary to permanent hair loss.

Donte's of New York has been in the hair replacement/hair extension business for almost 50 years, offering hair loss and hair extension solutions for men and women with fine, thinning hair or hair loss.  Visit us on the web to find out more:  www.dontes.com or call today for your FREE consultation: 480-483-8800.
